  Dear Chuck,
I don't know if you will remember me but I used to follow you and TW4 for years in the late 60's, early 70's. I remember always getting a Christmas card from your manager Vince DePaul and the group before you guys changed the band name to Styx and went to LA. I still have pictures I took of you guys at venues like the Holiday Ballroom and others. I even remember helping you guys move your equipment after a couple of gigs. I am so glad to see you are playing after all these years and so glad to read that you finally came out. I always knew, even back in the 60's and hoped you would stay safe and well. I am sorry you contracted HIV and hope you are doing well. I was so sorry when I heard that John passed away. You both were always so kind to me.. I know that Dennis still does concerts because he uses musicians from some of the bands I perform with. Just wanted to know if you will ever be around the Chicago area in the summer because I would like to show you the pics I kept of TW4 and maybe give or send a copy of them to you. The reason I ask about the summer is that I hope to be moving my belongings back to IL from AZ where I lived for two years until I had to return for health issues. Please contact me if you have a chance and I will give you my phone number. So happy that you are still playing and touring. I never forgot you guys!
A true friend,
Sally Broadhurst

  Greetings Chuck!
First and formost I want to thank you for all the therapudic music you have givin me through my whole life. About 9 years give or take we gave you guys t-shirts, characters of the band...I cant even remember what they looked like its been so long! Im beside myself that I have been so busy I havent seen Styx in almost 10 years!!
Recently I became disabled where its effected all my senses. After being home in Boston for about 5 years I also lived in STYX COUNTRY in ILLINois and finially got back home to Tucson 2 years ago. I wanted to share with you that my daughter 22 years came out as well. She wasnt quite sure how to approach me, Im much more of a free spirit then my x-husband. She wasnt sure how to tell me she was having a tough time as she thought I was going to JUDGE her.I asked her kindly and I said "Holly Im in no way shape or form could I possibly judge her, I made of crazy choices in my life...We all have but to have someone reveal something so personal after she told me she felt she was a girl stuck in a mans body since around5-6 years of age.She cried in relief of happyness and unsure of my reply. I told her "Sweetheart dont cry its ok. And she was quiet a moment and said "Your not upset or angry are you?" I had tears in my eyes because I had realized how difficult it was for her to tell me. Id love for her to get involved with something...Ill have to look up your pages and see what she might like to join. Honestly Chuck I just wanted to hold her she was crying so hard. I just told her "Baby I love and support you no matter what!" I've been a huge JY fan since my single digets, Im nearing 50 now. And you guys were family names in my house when I was growing up.I saw Styx when I was 14 with all my Styxer Chicks we all loved a member of the band...It was a riot. You made such a mark in my life with the songs, the music and many history lessons as well. I met JY shortly after John passed away...Us girls were crushed you all were like our bi...

  Chuck,
your story is everything.... inspirational, heart-wrenching, and I am at a loss for more adjectives.... I will admit, I know you from Styx, as I have been a VERY long time fan. I did see you a few years back in Holmdel, NJ (PNC Arts Center) where you came on to stage for a "guest appearance". I remember the deafening, standing ovation you received. I do not personally know anyone who has had to deal with what you are dealing with, but will always keep your page open.
Not sure how this may sound, but I am very aware of AIDS/HIV, as I was/am a massive Queen fanatic as well, and somehow still feel the pain of Freddie Mercury's passing.
You, dear sir, are an amazing man and an inspiration to us all.
You have my undying love, respect, and healing winds coming your way with love and light.
The best to you and yours, always and forever...
Love,
Ginger Arthur

Hello Chuck, my first rock album was Grand Illusion. My Dad taught high school in Temple City CA and had some albums in his classroom..long and short of it, I loved it! He took me and my friend to Cornerstone @ Long Beach Arena 1979 when I was just 12. I always thought you (and maybe JY) were the coolest looking members of the band. So glad to see you every time you come out on stage, thanks for being a great star and a great person!

Thank you, your brother, and the rest of the band. As a teenager, we drove up the pacific coast highway blasting your tunes through our single 5" speaker. It was all we had, but you know what? It was all we needed! It was so fun. I've seen you guys in concert a few times, still have the tunes, I even have some DVD's. My kids even know and play some of your songs. Timeless music, performed with feeling, takes me back to 1979, and other wonderful times in my life. Once again, thank you, your life's work meant a lot to me!

Hey Chuck: I am a 52 year old gay man. I was 15 when I starting listening to STYX our HS graduation song was 'Best of Times' I could never come out back then. I hated myself for being gay. But I started clubbing and making friends then started losing friends. I helped start Act-Up DC. I've come a long way. I am sick with several things and disabled now. Would dig a autograph pic. Thanks
