Hi Chuck, just finished your book "The Grand Illusion" and I was mighty inspired by it. You have lived a tough life. I came out when I was 18 (in 1983) and can't imagine living in the closet. I am so glad you managed to find the courage to free yourself. I hope you are still very healthy and loving life.
"Pieces of Eight" was my first Styx album...I bought it on 8-track after hearing Renegade on the radio. POE was the very first album I bought for myself by myself.
PS I also hope you work things out with Dennis. You were very tactful in your book about the bands relationship with Dennis, and that was very nice to see, what with the catty tell all mentality that many people have today. Sometimes creative paths diverge; I just hope that someday we can see Styx (minus John, unfortunately) together again.

Hi Chuck. I went to Wendover NV just recently to see your band. I have been a HUGE fan my entire life. I've never had the opertunity to see styx perform live before. Although when I was young I collected as many albums as I could get my hands on. I just wanted you to know your music has been an inspiration for people that will never have the pleasure of meeting with you. Including myself. I was watching a cable channel reciently and saw a live perfomance of styx doing the pieces of 8 and grand illusion albums, and when I saw you where there I jumped up and started just wildly pointing at the screen and yelling "that's Chuck!!! that's Chuck!!!" and had to explain that when I was growing up There was a little un-known band called styx and the band we where watching only had 2 of the original members and you where one. J.Y. and you! I just want you to know, as a life long fan, even going back to the days of John C. The styx that is on the road now. Is a perfectly sounding homage to the spirit that you and your brother John would be proud of. God bless you Chuck. And a most profound THANK YOU! I hope you know that your influence streches well beyond your physical reach.

Chuck, just wanted to take the time to thank you for all you have done to promote research for HIV/AIDS. Have been a fan since I was a little girl, and was most honored to have met you last summer in Cincinnati, OH. God bless and watch over you and yours. Holding you up, always...

I studied the history of Rock and Roll last semester, and had to go to a concert and do a report on that concert, including background information about the band. After attending the Friday show at Westbury in November, then writing up that report, I am truly touched by your story, which I alluded to in my report. You were terrific in that performance and I can't wait for you to come back to the Island. Keep fighting and keep rocking!
(PS, I don't know if you saw me but I was probably the only one in a Chicago Blackhawks jersey that night)

chuck, I don't know if you will remember me. I am from Illinois, and volunteered for an organization called Rainbow Youth Outreach. You came to Peoria and spoke to the youth on HIV awareness. I appreciate all you have done in the community. I have a pic of you with our group if you are interested. cari

Hey Chuck. The website Ultimate Classic Rock has just inducted Styx into its fan voted Hall of Fame. I know that your cousin Bob would love it and so would every living member of Styx past and present. I also know that your brother John would have loved it too. Keep on rocking.
