  -Hello-

Hope all is well. My name is Steve Kader & I work as an independent contractor for NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchandisers) & specifically NAMM's Oral History Program-NAMM is headquartered here in the North San Diego area of Carlsbad. The director of the Oral History Program is Dan Del Fiorentino & I work for him scheduling interviews with iconic music performers, instrument manufacturers, music publishers, etc. I am trying to set up for Dan a short on-camera interview with Chuck Panozzo for the NAMM Oral History Program (details below). We would come to the venue &/or hotel for the interview & would do it around Chuck's schedule if time permits on the day/evening of his performance @ Harrah's Resort on Sat., Sept. 13. We naturally appreciate your artist's time & the interview can be of a short duration of 15 to 20 minutes. We also respect the legacy of your artist & would like others to share in this. Thanks & talk to you soon.

Best,

Steve Kader

The NAMM Oral History program was created to capture and preserve the rich history of the music industry and to encourage young people to become music makers! Our hope is to capture interviews with those passionate about music, their gear and their musical heroes and then share those stories to the world on our website (www.namm.org). This program began in 2000 and to date we have captured over 2,500 interviews with all areas of the music products industry as well as the performers associated with musical instrument makers and publishers. Our goal is to post a segment from every interview on our website and in the upcoming years as our servers expand we hope to add the edited interview linked with keyword tags for easy searching and surfing. It would be our honor to include you in this special collection of interviews as we continue to encourage music making and music makers!

The interview will be videotaped and ...

I was digging through some stuff and came across my Styx Albums. I had forgotten how great the cover art is and how I would read and reread everything on these albums. The music holds up as do the lyrics. I am not sure I will ever get lucky enough to see you perform but if I do...yay! I don't give a shit about autographs but I would like to shake your hand. THAT would be another great memory. I hope you remain as well as you can be. Namaste

When I was in 6th grade I went to my first concert: Styx in Los Angeles, where I grew-up. I was all about "Kilroy Was Here" and that concert was pretty much the high point of my elementary school existence. Since then, my musical tastes have grown and changed, but Styx will always have a special place in my heart.

I came upon this website in a fit of nostalgia, and am infinitely glad I found it. Sometimes when I look at my childhood everything - even Styx - seems so normative, and it is incredibly heartening to know that it wasn't really so. Queer is everywhere! And that is fantastic!

Blessings to you and to all you do.

Tonight I was going down memory lane and started to listen to some Styx music. Then I was curious and that lead me to your site. I am a straight woman over 50. I look forward to the day when no one has to "come out" and everyone is treated fairly. Continued healing and blessings to you.

Chuck - I'm a born-again Styx fan and was a huge fan when a teenager. I had no idea about all you wrote about with yourself and the band. Thanks for your info and work and music.

Hi Chuck. I have recently gotten into your bass playing on account of seeing the Pieces Of Eight concert DVD from Memphis a few years back. It made me go out and get Grand Illusion up to Kilroy.
Musically speaking, I truly applaud your bass playing. It seems to fit in perfectly without getting in any body else's way. Much like my bass heroes: Jones, Deacon, Waters, Hamilton...
Thank you Chuck...for your musical contribution. It truly inspires me to keep on playing and be the best I can.
