Chuck, I NEEDED to say thank you for your time with STYX. I am heavily influenced by your bass playing and note choices. I'd have to argue that your parts are perfect for the songs. Kudos. I am a huge fan and have been for three decades; I was 10 when my older sister got "The Grand Illusion" for X-mas and I was hooked immediately. "Castle Walls" is one of my all-time favorite tracks. I have converted my three daughters into fans of Styx and Chuck P. - my eldest has recently decided to play bass and your lines will be a tutorial on how to do it right. Thank you again. I also greatly appreciate you making time and putting forth the effort to play with the band when they perform in Milwaukee. Keep your chin up and your face to the sun. Jamie Mac - HEDDA
P.S. You haven't heard anything until you've heard 5 year old twin girls singing "Come Sail Away" from the back seat - one of them perfectly matching Dennis' vibrato. All I can do is say "wow" and smile. Thanks Chuck. JM

Wow. Until I got on this kick tonight looking up recent info on the "Styx guys"... I didn't even realize you had "come out", that you were gay or any of this. Knowing what it must have been like for a guy from the "tough side" of Chicago and part of a band like Styx of the 70s... I can't imagine how hard those years must have been on your soul Your strength, the courage of the battles you take on now, your dignity and not least of all, your spirit and love of life... stand as an example for anyone wise enough to understand. Being diganosed myself with a disease that carries some social stigma and assumptions (HVC) I know a bit of what it's like to have people treat you differently for it. Finding your story, your words and your outlook on life... comes at a vital time for me... I needed that. Thanks for all the years of great music but more, thanks for being the great guy you are.
