  Chuck,
I just saw STYX perform last night in Morristown, NJ and was thrilled when you came out for the last several songs and the encore. I knew that you did this on occasion and was hoping that I would be fortunate enough to see you again (first time back in the late '70s). I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you on stage the next time I see STYX.
God bless!

  Dear Chuck,
Just read your book. Helped in so many ways. I am not gay, nor have AIDS. I do however have 3 autoimmune diseases. So-jorns, lupus, and ms. Your booked helped realized these types of diseases are a constant battle of medication chasing, side affects of medication, meds no longer working, and not a lot of knowledge by most people. I no longer look like myself and when people see me they automatically assume I have AIDS, because the treatments are ravaging my body as much as the disease, and the battle of depression - oh I was so glad to hear someone who didn't have to worry about money and was famous, could still suffer the same drill. You gave me courage to continue the medications which make just as sick as my disease, and you helped me decide I'm going to have to learn to love the new me. I am a single mother whose 18, and 21 yr old sons have NO father, as he was abusive. Reading your book made me realize I have to fight this, and take care of my health, so I can be here for my boys, as I'm all they have. I saw your June 26 (my birthday) concert at Blossom in Cleveland this year. It's always a crapshoot when I buy tickets, as I never know if I'll be well enough to attend and to put it blunt, we're very poor with my not being able to work. My son splurged and got me 12th row back! I was so thrilled my 18 year old son who took me that night became a new fan of Styx. (I almost didn't go because of the way I look right now, but my son convinced me it would be a night to remember and who gave a shit if people stared at me.) It was the most joy I've had in 7 long years. The music touches my soul. I also have your concert with the cleve youth orchestra on dvd, so I was pleased to see that this year (2010) you seemed well enough to play for most of the concert. What a joy to see all of you at your best. On a similar note, if you get a chance, Tommy Shaws openess about dealing with his addictions inspires me as my 21 yr son is a 2 yr r...

Hi Chuck, it was such a pleasure and honor to meet you at the Redmond, OR show. I was glad that I could meet you and personally tell you how much I enjoyed reading your book and just how much I learned from it (and I got a great picture with you too)! I hit the 4 shows in the 4 consecutive nights and it was great seeing you playing with the band every night - every show was fantastic and the band is as incredible as ever if not better. Take care.

Hey Neighbor. I posted something over on your other guestbook, but it never got posted for some reason. I kind of have an idea why it didn't, because I was a little ugly towards you and a fellow band mate of yours. Chuck,I have been following Styx for the longest time, and I have every album up to Brave New World and to me Styx at one point was one of the better bands out there. You guys had the best sound, the best harmonies, and now, it is like listening to a grunge garage band. The music just isn't there anymore. If you haven't already figured out, this is an email to ask you to talk to Dennis and have been back for a few select shows if anything. This band meant just as much to him as it did to you or your brother, God rest his soul. I am not sure if the problem is with you and him or with Jy and him from what I have read and people I have talked too, they all say it is Jy that is being the ahole about it all. I also read that you were re-recording some of the classic Styxs songs, and that really sucks. Those songs are great just like they are, especially the ones that Dennis sang. Chuck this is still more your band than it is any of anyone elses. I am not sure how your health is (i hope it is good), but it would be great to see one last show with at least You, Jy, Tommy, and Dennis all on stage one more time before something happens to you or anyone else. Please Chuck, don't let Styx fade away like this.

P.s. Loved your book.

Love you neighbor

Hey Chuck, wow! , where do i start...I am a long time STYX fan, and I actually began re-following them in concert just in the last 6 yrs or so, Ive seen them like 7 times, whenever they come to CA. I always knew you were a founding member but never knew your story till now. You are an amazing inspiration and I salute you & praise you for your bravery and caring heart. Thank you especially for your continued fight for gay rights and education. I myself am straight, but have many gay friends and family , and have always believed "Love is Love", and your heart and soul are what define who you are as a person , not your sexual orientation. I was at the Orange County Fair last night and saw you with the band at The Pacific Amphitheatre, you look great, you played awesome, and I wish you many more years of good health and happiness. God Bless you, and again thanks for all you do. Love Peggy McWilliams... a devoted Styx fan, and long time supporter of tolerance.
