Hi Chuck how are you, good I hope. This is indeed a good day, I just came a cross your website and read the whole thing. It was very good and sad at the same time. For you see I've had a major crush on you since the mid 70's. I too am Hiv+ since 1986, I thank God that I've never been sick and I continue to be undetectable. I hope you're doing well with this uninvited guest that lives in our bodies. I've also learned that we have other things in common. When I was a lad I also was drawing all the time, at home, at school, everyone thought I'd grow up to be an artist. I grew up listening to and loving music. My dad was a singer and pianist who also played trombone in the air force. Back then I was always making up little rhymes and then in 1982 I decided to write them down to make a book. Growing up listening to music is probably why I write my poems like lyrics to a song. That's why I titled my book "UNFINISHED SONGS". Now I'm taking guitar lessons and my teacher is helping me with a poem from the book that I've turned into a song. We've recorded all the music and now we just need to do the vocals. Wish me luck on my singing!! I would love to send you a copy of my book. Please let me know! I'm hoping and praying that the song will get some exposure.
Thank you for your time sir!!
Please stay healthy!!!
Love and God Bless
George
P.S. STYX is also my friend on MYSPACE you can go to STYX friends and see the cover of my book under George
Thanks again Chuck Be HAPPY!!!

I was born in 1954. No doubt "Music of the late 60's,& 70's chronicled every experience, good or bad, in my life. Music got me through it all. Another thing that got me through all of the things I could not understand was the strength I derived from "The Parable of the Talents". I'm not a religious fanatic, but I do place my faith & trust in the Lord, because the majority of people called "friends", have no idea how to STYK by a friend when they really need someone to lean on. God gave you more talents than just those found in your artwork and music, and it took the life altering HIV to bring it to light. It was born in you but overshadowed by the things others found important. I wish that you find even more strength, happiness,& contentment in knowing through sacrifice you become richer. I went thru breast cancer, now brain-stem cancer, and a multitude of operations and adjustments. But, not once did I ever feel sorry for myself because life is too short to pity yourself. You did great! I made a bargain with the Lord. You allow me to walk again and I will never sit still. I will help everyone I can who is not as strong as myself, to find peace and acceptance within their life. Bravissimo Chuck!

Hi Chuck, First of all I want to let you know I was saddened to learn about your condition. You more than likely wouldn't remember me, I had the pleasure of meeting you when I was 11 and a half years old, that was 37 years ago now. I was staying with my mother that summer for a couple weeks at the Holiday Inn in Pekin, Illinois. Dennis and Sue seen me in the pool and I was playing catch with their daughter Carrie Ann (about 2yrs old), anyway they had asked me if I would babysit the next day as all of you were going to go record for your 2nd album and she wanted to go watch. One evening I got to sit with some of you by the pool and you guys sang plexi-glass toilet. I still remember it :) Sue had taken me for an ice-cream cone, I got a Styx T-shirt and a picture of the band, You, John, Dennis, James and the other John all signed it. Tommy wasn't with the band yet. Me being a farm kid of only 11 and working throughout my childhood had one of the best summers.. plus my mother let me go buy the first album you had out :) I wrote to Styx a few times after that and James wrote back 3 times. What I remember about you most was you were the one that did the art work, and everytime I would get another album I would always check it out then always tell friends, Chuck the one that does the art work :) and he plays guitar in the band too. My friends would always like hearing my story about meeting Styx. It was always so exciting to be able to tell people I met Styx and about the plexi-glass toilet song. Good memories I carry with yet today. Thank you and thanks to the rest of Styx. When I was 14 yrs. old, my mother was living in Lincoln, Nebraska she came to Iowa and got me for a weekend and took me and a friend to Styx concert in Lincoln, that was the only time I seen you guys in concert and it was awesome. I had a favorite uncle that contracted HIV from a woman carrier, and it had turned into full blown aids. I seen what he went through with all the medication and being limi...

I haven't been a Styx fan for too long, but you guys are quickly becoming one of my favourites! It's always great to hear a song of yours on the radio.
