I don't really know what to say here, so here goes. I bought your book online for 25 cents plus shipping. It seems the book wasn't selling. I got the book and it was signed by somebody, probably you. The signature was right over the title of the book in thick permanent marker. So somebody basically messed up the book. Anyway Chuck, I read your book. It's been a couple of years now. Your book is the only gay authored book I have ever read--- that I know of or can remember. I read your book only to read about Styx and your life as a gay man was very secondary to me as a straight male. I also read "The Grand Delusion". I hope Dennis De Young writes a book about Styx someday. Anyway, I appreciate your book and I like knowing you still play a few songs here and there with Styx. It would also be great if Dennis came back to Styx for new albums and tours, but I'm not holding my breath. As for you Chuck I don't wish bad karma or anything but it seems you are as famous now for being GAY as for being in the famous band STYX. My memories of your book seem to be of you having diarrhea and bed sores, living with your mother, your first time with an older man. I can't seem to remember much about Styx. I guess the "shock value" stuff overwhelmed the rest of my memories of your book. Anyway, I'm glad you didn't fall to aids as many gay people did. I'm sorry you still suffer from HIV. I'm not one of your flag waving gay rights types. I don't appreciate gay people, at all, but I can coexist with you. I didn't care at all for the final pages of your book with the gay parade and your reaching out to other gay people. Also I live in Florida, so if you want to hunt me down to kill me I don't live that far away. Just joking. Please don't kill me. You know I gave your book to the thrift store and then felt guilty about it. I figured, Chuck's biography is just as important as the other biographies and Rock bios that I have. I wrote to you about a year ago and out of the kindness of your heart, you wrote me back. I told you my 2 sons are gay and this has been a very hard road for me. Just recently our youngest son moved to Dallas. I feel I've lost him. Not only is he too far from home, but he told me his roommate is HIV positive. This is breaking my heart. I too a gay guitarist who tried to become someone in America who could get some recognition, but never to get there.
